ABOUT AMARELA
Amarela was forged from the forces of passion and precision that guided her upbringing in Senegal, West Africa. As a child, Amarela was exposed to the raw materials of Africa; gemstones, wooden beads and metal ores. She found inspiration from such fashion standards such as Coco Chanel, Karl lagarfield, Cartier, and Yves Saint Laurent. She began designing jewelry using local materials and artistic themes. Today, Amarela’s Brand is becoming a refinement of intrinsic African patterns, placed in classical Western settings.
With a background in electrical engineering and ferocity for fashion, Amarela brings an edgy and multifaceted perspective to jewelry design. She was first inspired by wire designs using circuit wires and circuit design tools in while designing electronics circuits. After coming across beautiful stones on business trips to South Africa and Madagascar, she began to explore the cultural significance and use of stones. Her mastery of hand tools later connected to her love of natural semi-precious stones, igniting the creation of original and intricate jewelry designs. As she began to experiment with the art form, one intricate creation led to another.
